Probation for Bayonne 'sex' teacher
Jersey Journal, October 29, 2005
Diane West, the 51-year-old former Bayonne High School guidance counselor who admitted having a long-term sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student, was sentenced yesterday to four years probation and must register as a sex offender. West has also settled a federal civil lawsuit filed against her by the former student. His attorney, Robert Bianchi, did not comment on the settlement because both sides signed a confidentiality agreement that prevents them from talking about it. Bianchi did say he would be proceeding with a suit against the city of Bayonne, the Bayonne Board of Education, Schools Superintendent Patricia McGeehan and former Bayonne High School Principal Michael Wanko.
